Dailymotion – Qua – Goodmorning Sun – a Music video

This song is an instrumental modern masterpiece – it takes techno to a new level by adding in largely syncopated rhythms and by playing different combinations of instruments together which makes the overall effect very grand and punchy. The simple melodies heard in what seems to be the recorder instrument make this tune recognizable to any ear and sits well with the deep harmonizing bass tunes. This song is extremely powerful, very energizing and not heard enough. Laura Ellis

Global Crown

Global Crown, originally uploaded by Natural World Museum.

“What does it take for the viewer to adjust his or her vision and truly see what’s happening because of global warming as well as to take action?” Wujcik uses pixels, or squares of colour, to serve as a metaphor for apathy.

I love messing with pixels and I love the metaphor that Wujcik is communicating by using large, squared, low resolution pixels as a blurring element over what seems to be the thorny crown that {en:Jesus} wore on the cross. It calls me and interests me whenever there is an artistic commentary on one of the most venerated figures of all time.

Jerry Leviatan Met The Walrus in 1969, Animation in 2007

Browsing the RSS feed of Mother Jones’s (smart, fearless journalism) articles I ran into this inspiring piece of animated illustration and typography. Surely you’ll find hundreds of animated “doc films” on popular video sites, but how many feature the {en:John Lennon} himself?

In 1969 Jerry Levitan, then 14 years old, found his way into John Lennon’s room in the King Edward Hotel in Toronto, with a tape recorder. Lennon, patient and generous (traits that would one day, alas, prove expensive), gave him a wonderful interview. Here is the brilliant animated short film made from that tape.
